Hot Rolled Steel (HR)
Overview
Steel coils that have received no further treatment after being rolled to the desired thickness or gauge. ASTM A36 is the most commonly available of the hot-rolled steels.
Process
Hot rolling is a process that is performed at an elevated temperature, which turns steel slabs into coils. Cold rolled and coated steel products are derived from hot rolled steel.
Typical Application
Unexposed applications such as, structural support, roll formed applications, tubing, stamping and general fabrication.
